The AmiCORE Apheresis Sytem
is SIMPLE and SMART

The Fresenius Kabi AmiCORE Apheresis System provides a new level of platelet collection. Its innovative design helps to simplify each step of the platelet collection process, allowing operators more time to focus on donors. The AmiCORE system has an automated addition of Platelet Additive Solution (PAS) and concurrent plasma collection. It has scales to provide accurate fluid volume measurements. Donors can have a positive experience with its saline infusion, numerical control of draw and return rates, regulation of citrate return, built-in pressure cuff and platelet post-count calculation.

Safety

Adjustment/control buttons are arranged logically on the remote control. No tipping over of the couch in case of a donor collaps (up to 200 kg). Press only one button to immediately reach shock position. A new key system guarantees that the personnel stays in full control of the Compocouch.

The comfortable donation and apheresis couches

Quality and Comfort

Comfortable relaxation when sitting due to the twin-belt system and exchangeable bolster pad made of highly absorbent foam material.

The arm rests can be moved in and out to adjust seat width to suit individual requirements. Especially for whole blood donation the wedge shaped arm support promotes a comfortable vena puncture resulting in optimal blood flow.

The extra long foot section ensures a comfortable rest even for tall donors.

Hygiene

The smooth surface is easy to clean. The arm rests are fully padded for sturdyness and high resistance. In general all seals are closed to prevent any dirt collection while not in use.

Fully closed system – reduced odour and exhaust

The element heats the sealed tube ends without touching them. The tube ends of the docked tube remain sealed until the dock is completed and the waste tube ends remain closed for disposal (no risk of contamination). Smell and exhaust caused by burned PVC material is significantly reduced compared to systems using wafers. This is highly appreciated by operators with systems already in use.

The patented technology for sterile connection of PVC tubing – new and improved

CompoDock® is a unique machine that does not require wafers as it has a permantent heating element. This leads to a number of benefits on environmental/health and saftey aspects in operation

Quick and easy handling

Operation is quick, as no wafer loading is neces-sary. Wafer loss caused by jamming cannot occur. The loading of the system takes place in just two steps and is designed to prevent any problems with tube mix up. Finally, no contami-nated wafers have to be disposed.

New tube alignment

The new position cover prevents fail docks due to misalignment. Tube guards (see picture, marked area) position the tubes automatically in the right posi tion, whenever the cover is closed. This con-struction of the new tube alignment supports fail safe handling, which is especially attractive for intensive use.
